, 北卡罗来纳州立大学,north carolina state university,raleigh 于公元1887年建校,占地2,115英亩,校地为政府所拨赠,位在北卡州首府罗利（raleigh）,学生约3万人,亚裔美籍学生占5%,国际学生占1%。 北卡罗来纳州立大学,north carolina state university,raleigh 教授有19位被选为美国科学院（national academy of sciences）或工程院（national academy of engineering）院士。北卡州立大学图书馆由d. h. hill图书馆及4个分馆组成。共藏书310万册,在全美国同类图书馆中排名第32名。 ncsu 的愿景是：『为了能符合本州岛及社会上教育、经济发展及生活质量的需要,我们极力发挥政府拨赠校地学校的三大功能：教学、研究及延伸教育。』世界闻名的科技「三角研究园区」（research triangle park）,即是由北卡州位于罗利的北卡州立大学、位于德翰（durham）的杜克大学（duke university）医学院以及位于教堂山（chapel hill）的北卡大学（university of north carolina）医学院3所著名的大学联结而成的三角地带,占地 7,000英亩,从草创至今已有40年的历史,目前生物科技亦是发展重点。 不过,由于「三角研究园区」已不敷科技公司使用,北卡州政府于1988 年左右拨1,000英亩土地予该校,规划开发百年纪念校园（centennial campus）。其特色为混合学校教学研究与公司企业之研发园区,集合研究室、创业大楼及育成中心。此园区使高等教育学子因具备体验应用科学研发环境,而增加毕业后就业机会。 ncsu以独特的红砖建筑及钟楼（bell tower）著名,钟楼是北卡州立大学的象征。设计于1920年,为纪念第一次世界大战中阵亡的校友而成立。由于20年代底的经济大萧条造成集资困难,所以直到1937年钟楼主体才建成。又由于第二次世界大战的影响,所以整个工程到1949年才全部完工,高达35米,建筑设计采用了欧洲罗马时代及哥德式（gothic）的风格。 罗利、德翰及教堂山自公元1959年设立三角研究园区（research triangle park）,区内有生物技术中心（隶属州政府）、育成中心、研发中心及服务中心。不仅吸引了许多大型企业来此设立研发单位,在附近设厂生产,同时也吸引了大量高科技人才到园区及大学服务,就业人数超过 4万2千人,成为全美博士人口密度最高的地区。 , ,
