经常会听见有些同学问这样的问题:1.背单词的时候到底应该优先背哪些词汇?2.如何对待在文章内出现的生僻词汇?3.如何读懂一篇内容非常生僻晦涩的文章?其实答案很简单,答案1:生僻词汇特别是某些学科的专有名词,是不需要背诵,只需要瞄几眼就可以了。真正要背的是书面语中常用的动词和形容词。换句话说,重点背表达概念间关系的符号,而不是概念本身。答案2.文章内的生僻词汇绝大多数可以通过阅读周围文字来理解,甚至跳过。答案3.既然托福考试考的不是知识,而是语言,文章内容晦涩只是一个假相。只要静下心来,通过理解专业背景知识以外的普通文字,特别是文字间的结构,就可以把一篇文章读懂。
托福词汇考察点
托福考试的词汇考察分成两种类型,一种是在词汇题里面直接考察近义词的记忆和辨析,另外一种是在其他题目或者文章中设置词汇难点,考上下文中的词汇理解。前一种只考察词汇记忆,后一种考理解能力。对于词汇的考察,其实在真题中考得并不难。我们只要考前认真背过单词,一般都不会在考试里遇到词汇题卡壳的情况。所以考前背单词尤为重要。单词是一个不可忽略的基础,而单词的记忆最好利用零碎的时间,每次大量记忆并多次重复,一直到记住为止。这是记忆单词的一个有效方式。
托福背单词方法
1.按照“托福考试词频表”来背。这个表是前人根据旧托的考试历史对托福词汇考察的频率进行的一个统计表。新托的词汇范围和旧托相比,并没有大的改变,所以用这个表格来指导背诵,对于我们集中精力、提高背诵单词的效率和针对性仍然具有很高的参考意义。2.按照词汇对信息传递的作用和人认知的顺序,优先背诵动词和形容词。3.按照托福考试内容的特点,优先背诵已经学过的简单词汇的对应书面语。4.善用词根词缀背诵词汇。
